Notes

When changing the innerHTML content of a node containing a single CharacterData node, resulting in a single-but-different CharacterData child node, WebKit browsers consider this a characterData mutation of the child CharacterData node, while other browsers consider it a childList mutation of the parent node.

* Partial support with prefix.

Bugs

  • iOS 6 has a WebKitMutationObserver bug: it doesn't trigger "childList" changes until you bind one of the deprecated mutation events (for example, "DOMNodeInserted") to the node being watched by the observer.

  • IE11 does not include the child nodes when they are removed by setting the innerHTML see bug.
